demist AI
Planned service — nothing here is implemented yet. This page stands in for a service that exists so far only as a requirements draft, written to be argued with before any code is written.
demist AI applies machine learning — locally run, open-weight models and ordinary statistics — to problems the demist protocol leaves to people. Its role is to inform and to alert, and to stop there: it reaches no conclusion the chain acts on, and takes no action of its own. It holds no private key, signs nothing, and submits nothing to a chain. Every claim it publishes cites the public chain data it rests on, so a reader can check it without believing this service.
What it is meant to do
- Web-of-trust anomalies — read the certification graph as a whole and hand a citizen of the affected area a dossier they can check for themselves.
- Voting monitoring — watch how a voting is supported, published and voted on, from public chain data alone, and never attempt to deanonymize a ballot.
- Assistants — help a citizen draft, review, translate and promote a voting proposal or a petition, without ever writing an accusation or telling anyone how to vote.
- Adult population estimates — the denominator that turns a citizen count into a measure of how far democracy has actually come.
- Source-code review — read the demist repository for cryptographic flaws, determinism violations and exploitable bugs.
Like the agora and the market, it is one possible implementation of an off-chain companion service, not a part of the protocol. Anyone may run another one, and that plurality is the safety mechanism rather than a courtesy.
